혹등고래는 수염고랫과의 고래이다. 성체는 몸길이가 12-16m 이고, 무게는 30톤 정도 나간다. 고래뛰기와 긴 가슴지느러미, 그리고 복잡한 노래소리로 잘 알려져 있다.

The humpback whale is a species of baleen whale. One of the larger rorqual species, adults range in length from 12–16m and weigh around 25–30metric tons. The humpback has a distinctive body shape, with long pectoral fins and a knobbly head. It is known for breaching and other distinctive surface behaviors, making it popular with whale watchers.
