윌리엄 월리스 (1270-1305)

윌리엄 월리스는 스코틀랜드의 기사이자 독립영웅으로 스코틀랜드 독립 전쟁에서 활약하였다. 영화 《브레이브하트》의 실존 모델이기도 하다. 앤드루 머레이와 함께 스털링 다리 전투에서 잉글랜드 군을 패퇴시킨 공으로 스코틀랜드의 수호자로 임명되어, 폴커크 전투때까지 이 직을 유지하였다.

William Wallace

Sir William Wallace was a Scottish knight who became one of the main leaders during the First War of Scottish Independence. Along with Andrew Moray, Wallace defeated an English army at the Battle of Stirling Bridge in September 1297.

Wallace Monument

The National Wallace Monument (generally known as the Wallace Monument) is a tower standing on the shoulder of the Abbey Craig, a hilltop overlooking Stirling in Scotland. It commemorates Sir William Wallace, a 13th-century Scottish hero.
