마모셋

마모셋(또는 마모셋원숭이) 또는 명주원숭이는 피그미마모셋속과 루스말렌난쟁이마모셋속, 비단마모셋속, 미코속에 포함되는 21종의 신세계원숭이의 총칭이다. 이 4개 속은 모두 생물학적으로 비단원숭이과에 속한다. "마모셋"이라는 명칭은 마모셋과 밀접한 관련이 있는 괼디원숭이를 부르는 데도 사용한다. 중앙아프리카공화국, 케냐, 탄자니아 등에 분포한다.

Marmoset

The marmosets, also known as zaris, are twenty-two New World monkey species of the genera Callithrix, Cebuella, Callibella and Mico. All four genera are part of the biological family Callitrichidae. The term marmoset is also used in reference to the Goeldi's marmoset, Callimico goeldii, which is closely related. Most marmosets are about 20 centimetres (8 in) long.
