사포 (BC.630?-570?)

사포는 고대 그리스의 시인이다. 기원전 612년 경 레스보스 섬에서 귀족의 딸로 태어나 한때는 시칠리아에 망명했으나 그 후 다시 복귀했다. 개인의 내적 생활을 아름답게 읊어 그리스 문학사·정신사에 독자적인 발자취를 남겼고, 시의 아름다움 때문에 열 번째 시의 여신으로 손꼽히고 있다.

Sappho (BC.630?-570?)

Sappho (c. 630 – c. 570 BC) was an archaic Greek poet from the island of Lesbos. Sappho is known for her lyric poetry, written to be sung while accompanied by a lyre. Most of Sappho's poetry is now lost, and what is extant has survived only in fragmentary form, except for one complete poem: the "Ode to Aphrodite". As well as lyric poetry, ancient commentators claimed that Sappho wrote elegiac and iambic poetry.
