셀틱 FC

아일랜드 대기근으로 글래스고에 이주한 아일랜드 사람들은 궁핍하게 살고 있었는데, 수사 월프리드가 하이버니언의 사례를 보고 가난한 이주민들의 정체성을 되찾고 빈민 구제에 필요한 돈을 모으기 위하여 창단하게 되었다. 셀틱이라는 이름은 클럽의 기반이 스코틀랜드와 아일랜드에 기반한다는 사실에 창안하여 월프리드가 지은 것이다.

Celtic have won the Scottish league championship 49 times, most recently in 2017–18, which was their seventh consecutive championship. They have won the Scottish Cup 38 times and the Scottish League Cup 18 times. The club's greatest season was 1966–67, when Celtic became the first British team to win the European Cup, also winning the Scottish league championship, the Scottish Cup, the League Cup and the Glasgow Cup. Celtic also reached the 1970 European Cup Final and the 2003 UEFA Cup Final, losing in both.
