Madakaripura Waterfall
Madakaripura Waterfall is a waterfall located in Probolinggo Regency, East Java Province. This 200 meter high waterfall is the highest waterfall on the island of Java and the second highest in Indonesia. This waterfall is one of the waterfalls in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area, precisely on the slopes of Mount Bromo. Madakaripura Waterfall is located at the end of a narrow valley and is in the form of an alcove surrounded by steep cliffs that drip water on all areas of the cliff like it is raining, 3 of which even pour down to form another waterfall. The name of the waterfall which is located at an altitude of 1,000 meters above sea level comes from the word Madakaripura, the fief land belonging to Mahapatih Gajah Mada from the Majapahit kingdom. Madakaripura Waterfall is also often called the Eternal Waterfall. This is because the water flowed by this waterfall is always abundant and the discharge never decreases.
