시먼딩 (西門町)

지하철 시먼역 6번 출구와 연결되는 거리로 타이베이의 명동이라 불리는 곳이다. 대형쇼핑센터와 백화점을 비롯하여 의류, 신발 화장품 다양한 매장들이 빼곡히 들어서 있는 것 이 특징이다. 20여 개의 영화 상영관도 밀집하고 있어 극장가 로도 유명하며, 거리 곳곳에 노점상이 6,000여 개에 달할 정도로 핫한 거리이다.

Ximending

Ximending is a neighborhood and shopping district in the Wanhua District of Taipei, Taiwan. It was the first pedestrian zone in Taiwan. Ximending has been called the "Harajuku of Taipei" and the "Shibuya of Taipei". Ximending is the source of Taiwan's fashion, subculture, and Japanese culture. Ximending has a host of clubs and pubs in the surrounding area.

시먼훙러우

시먼역 근처의 시먼훙러우는 2층 서양식 벽돌건축물로 1908년 일본인이 만든 이 국영시장은 타이완에서 가장 오래되고 온전히 보존된 3급 고적건물이다. 당시 타이완 총독부의 건축보수를 담당하며 서양식 건축양식에 정통했던 일본인 곤도주로가 설계한 이 건물은 사방에서 사람들이 몰려오길 기원하는 의미의 ‘8괘구조’로 설계되었고, 주 건물은 ‘십자형구조’인 것이 특징이다. ‘시먼훙러우’는 바로 옆에 위치한 난베이광장까지 모두 포함하여 일컬어진다.

Red House Theater

The Red House Theater, often called Hong Lo Red Play House, Red Theater, Ximen Honglou or Ximen Red House in English, is a historic theater in Ximending, Wanhua District, Taipei, Taiwan. The theater is located at 10 Chengdu Road. Built in 1908 during Japanese rule and designed by Japanese architect Kondo Juro, it was originally a market building but was used as a theater from 1945 onward.
