쌀라 찰름끄룽 극장

태국 최초의 서양식 영화관으로 콘 공연이 펼쳐지는 왕실 극장이다. 콘은 인도의 서사시 라마야나를 태국식으로 각색한 라마끼엔. 가면을 쓴 수십 명의 무용수들이 태국 전통의 노래와 춤을 선보이며 시선을 사로잡는다. 쌀라 찰름끄룽 극장에서는 2005~2006년 태국 국왕의 즉위 60주년을 기념해 쁘라 차끄라와딴 Pra Chakrawatan이라는 고급 콘 공연을 펼친데 이어 2006~2010년에는 하누만 찬깜행Hanuman Chankamhaeng을 선보였으며, 현재에도 새로운 에피소드로 콘 공연을 이어가고 있다.

Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre is a theatre in Bangkok, Thailand. It was established in 1933. Originally it was called "Sala ChalermThai", "Glory of Thailand". After serving as a cinema for many years it now hosts performances of classical Thai dance theatre.

콘

콘은 태국의 전통 가면무용극이다. 음악, 무용, 연극이 결합된 고전적인 예술 양식으로 태국의 전통문화를 대표한다. 콘은 방콕 쌀라 찰름끄룽 극장과 국립극장을 중심으로 공연된다.

Khon

Khon is a dance drama genre from Thailand. Khon has been performed since the Ayutthaya Kingdom. It is traditionally performed solely in the royal court by men in masks accompanied by narrators and a traditional piphat ensemble. A variation of this genre with female performers is called khon phu ying.
