야쿠르트 스왈로스
도쿄 야쿠르트 스왈로스는 센트럴 리그 소속으로 모기업은 식품 기업인 야쿠르트 혼샤이며 대한민국의 한국야쿠르트를 합작 투자, 설립한 기업이다. 1950년에 고쿠테쓰 스왈로스라는 이름으로 창단되었으며, 1978년에는 팀의 센트럴 리그 첫 우승과 같은 해 일본 시리즈 우승을 시작으로 1990년대에 들어서 4번의 리그 우승과 3번의 일본 시리즈 우승을 제패하여 팀의 황금기를 장식하기도 하는 등 통산 6번의 리그 우승, 5번의 일본 시리즈 우승 기록을 보유하고 있다. 현재 요미우리 자이언츠의 같은 연고지인 도쿄도에 속하고 있으며 메이지 진구 야구장을 전용 구장으로 사용하고 있다.

Yakult Swallows
The Swallows are named after their corporate owners, the Yakult Corporation. From 1950 to 1965, the team was owned by the former Japanese National Railways and called the Kokutetsu Swallows; the team was then owned by the newspaper Sankei Shimbun from 1965 to 1968 and called the Sankei Atoms. Yakult purchased the team in 1970 and restored its original Swallows name in 1974. Then it was renamed the Tokyo Yakult Swallows in 2006.
