2020년 하계 올림픽
2020년 하계 올림픽은 2021년 7월 23일부터 8월 8일까지 일본 도쿄에서 진행된 제32회 하계 올림픽이다. 이 대회는 원래 2020년 7월 24일부터 8월 9일까지 개최될 예정이었으나, 2020년에 일어난 코로나19 범유행의 여파로 개최 시기를 1년 미뤄서 개최되었다. 그러나 대회의 공식 명칭은 변경하지 않고 "2020 도쿄 올림픽"을 그대로 사용하기로 결정되었다. 하계 올림픽의 개최 시기가 세계적 전염병 유행을 이유로 1년 연기된 것은 근대 올림픽 124년 역사상 처음 있는 일이다. 또한 동계와 하계 올림픽을 통틀어 역사상 최초로 홀수 년도에 개최된 올림픽이다.

2020 Summer Olympics
Tokyo was selected as the host city during the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 7 September 2013. The Games were originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, but due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, on 24 March 2020, the event was postponed to 2021, the first such instance in the history of the Olympic Games (previous games had been cancelled but not rescheduled). However, the event retained the Tokyo 2020 branding for marketing purpose.
