Maraya Concert Hall
The public building, whose name means mirror in English, was commissioned by the Royal Commission for AlUla. But it took a global design team to bring the project to life: Giò Forma’s Italian-German group of Florian Boje, Cristiana Picco and Claudio Santucci led the architecture and design effort, while Massimo Fogliati and Fabio Pavanetto of Black Engineering managed the project, which was intended not just to reflect the desert but also to pay homage to history. “As is evident in the architecture of the Nabataeans, Maraya Concert Hall was created utilizing segmentation and (by) sculpting the blocks," Boje told Arab News.
