헨리 조지는 미국의 저술가, 정치가, 정치경제학자이다. 그는 단일세라고도 불리는 토지가치세의 주창자였으며, 조지주의라고 불리는 경제학파의 형성에 영향을 끼쳤다. 헨리 조지는 19세기 후반에 카를 마르크스와의 논쟁에서 자본과 토지를 구분하지 않는 마르크스주의를 비판하였다.

Henry George (1839-1897)
Henry George was an American political economist and journalist. His writing was immensely popular in 19th-century America and sparked several reform movements of the Progressive Era. He inspired the economic philosophy known as Georgism, the belief that people should own the value they produce themselves, but that the economic value of land (including natural resources) should belong equally to all members of society. George famously argued that a single tax on land values would create a more productive and just society.
