쓰촨 자이언트판다 보호 구역

쓰촨 자이언트판다 보호 구역에는 멸종 위기에 처한 전 세계 판다의 30% 이상이 서식한다. 면적은 924,500㏊이고 충라이산맥과 지아진 산에 일곱 개의 자연보호 지역과 아홉 개의 자연공원이 있다. 이 보호 구역은 현재 남아 있는 자이언트판다 서식지 중 가장 규모가 크며, 신생대 제3기 고대 열대림의 유적이다. 이곳은 또한 자이언트판다의 가장 중요한 포획번식지이며, 너구리판다, 눈표범, 구름무늬표범 등 다른 멸종 위기 동물의 서식지이기도 하다.

Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries - Wolong, Mt Siguniang and Jiajin Mountains

Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries, home to more than 30% of the world's pandas which are classed as highly endangered, covers 924,500 ha with seven nature reserves and nine scenic parks in the Qionglai and Jiajin Mountains. The sanctuaries constitute the largest remaining contiguous habitat of the giant panda, a relict from the paleo-tropic forests of the Tertiary Era. It is also the species' most important site for captive breeding.
