팔레 가르니에 (파리 오페라 극장)

오페라 가르니에(Opéra Garnier) 또는 가르니에 궁(Palais Garnier)은 프랑스 파리 시 9 아롱디스망, 오페라의 거리 북쪽 끝에 위치한 2200석을 수용하는 오페라 극장이다. 파리 오페라 극장으로도 알려져 있다. 신바로크 양식 하에 샤를 가르니에에 의해 설계된 건물로 그 당시 건축학적 걸작 중 하나로 평가된다.

Palais Garnier

The Palais Garnier is a 1,979-seat opera house, which was built from 1861 to 1875 for the Paris Opera. It was called the Salle des Capucines, because of its location on the Boulevard des Capucines in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, but soon became known as the Palais Garnier, in recognition of its opulence and its architect, Charles Garnier.

오페라의 유령

이 뮤지컬은 파리 오페라를 공포에 떨게 한 정체 불명의 추악한 얼굴을 한 괴신사 오페라의 유령에게 사로잡히게 되는 아름다운 가수, 크리스틴 다예를 중심으로 하고 있다. 사실 이는 작곡가인 웨버가 1984년, 스탠다드 이스트 극장에서 같은 내용을 바탕으로 한, 켄 힐의 동명의 다른 오페라를 보고 영향을 받은 것이다.

The Phantom of the Opera

The Phantom of the Opera is a musical with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Charles Hart. Richard Stilgoe and Lloyd Webber wrote the musical's book together. Stilgoe also provided additional lyrics. Based on the eponymous French novel by Gaston Leroux, its central plot revolves around a beautiful soprano, Christine Daaé, who becomes the obsession of a mysterious, disfigured musical genius living in the subterranean labyrinth beneath the Paris Opéra House
