빨간 머리 앤

빨간 머리 앤은 캐나다의 여성작가 루시 모드 몽고메리의 1908년작 소설이다. 원제는 《그린게이블스의 앤》이다. 앤 셜리라는 감성이 풍부하고 말이 많은 소녀의 몸과 마음이 성장해 가는 과정을 풍부한 어휘력과 감성이 풍부한 문체로 묘사하고 있다. 모두 38장으로 구성되어 있고, 루시의 고향이기도 한 프린스에드워드 섬의 시골인 에이번리에 대한 낭만적 묘사, 등장인물들의 감정에 대한 서술이 잘되어 있는 점이 소설의 장점이다.

Anne of Green Gables

Anne of Green Gables is a 1908 novel by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery (published as L. M. Montgomery). Written for all ages, it has been considered a classic children's novel since the mid-twentieth century. Set in the late 19th century, the novel recounts the adventures of Anne Shirley, an 11-year-old orphan girl, who was mistakenly sent to two middle-aged siblings; Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, originally intending to adopt a boy to help them on their farm in the fictional town of Avonlea on Prince Edward Island.
