검은카이만
검은카이만(Black caiman)은 큰 악어 종이고, 미시시피악어와 비슷한 체급이다. 검은카이만은 느리게 움직이는 강, 호수, 계절적으로 범람한 아마존 분지의 사바나 그리고 남아메리카의 다른 민물 서식지를 따라 사는 육식 파충류이다. 검은카이만은 길이가 최소 5m (16ft)에서 최대 6m (20ft)까지 자라는 꽤 큰 종이고, 이것은 멸종 위기에 처한 오리노코악어 다음으로 신열대 지방의 두 번째로 큰 파충류이다.

Black caiman
The black caiman (Melanosuchus niger) is a species of large crocodilian and, along with the American alligator, is one of the biggest extant members of the family Alligatoridae and order Crocodilia. It is a carnivorous reptile that lives along slow-moving rivers, lakes, seasonally flooded savannas of the Amazon basin, and in other freshwater habitats of South America.
