저우언라이 (주은래, 1898-1976)

노련한 외교관으로서, 유능한 행정가로서, 헌신적인 혁명가로서, 그리고 실용적 정치가로서 중국 현대사에 남긴 그의 족적은 매우 크다. 그는 마오의 관념적이고 급진적인 정책을 자신의 권한 안에서 최대한 완화시키도록 노력했다. 특히 문화대혁명 기간 동안 홍위병들의 파괴으로부터 많은 문화유적지들을 보호하고, 숙청인사들을 보호하였다. 저우언라이의 여성 편력은 깨끗하였다. 마오를 비롯한 많은 중국 지도자들의 비행이나 추문에 대한 사후 폭로나 비화가 잇다르고 있지만, 저우언라이는 이들과는 달리 청빈하고 성실한 삶과 근무로 예나 지금이나 중국인들의 사랑과 존경을 받고 있다.

Zhou Enlai (1898-1976)

Zhou Enlai was the first Premier of the People's Republic of China. Zhou was China's head of government, serving from October 1949 until his death in January 1976. Zhou served under Chairman Mao Zedong and was instrumental in the Communist Party's rise to power, and later in consolidating its control, forming foreign policy, and developing the Chinese economy.

주은래등영초기념관

중국의 영원한 총리’로 칭송받는 주은래를 기념하기 위해 1998년 수상공원 북쪽에 기념관이 세워졌다. 전 중국 총리였던 주은래는 원래 북경에서 기차로 24시간이 걸리는 거리에 위치한 소흥에서 태어났다. 그러나 그는 천진에서 학교를 다녔다. 그래서 천진에 그의 기념관이 세워졌다. 기념관에는 7천여 평의 면적에 3층 건물로 주은래가 천진과 일본, 유럽에서 공부했을 때의 활동을 보여주는 자료들이 연대순으로 전시되어 있다. 그의 부인 등영초(鄧領超-떵잉차오)는 20세기 중국 여성운동의 선구자 역할을 했던 여성이다. 이곳은 다른 지역에서도 많은 사람들이 견학을 하러 오는 종합적 교육 전시관이다. 기념관 오른쪽에는 주은래가 탔던 전용비행기가 있다.

Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao Memorial Hall

The Memorial to Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao is a museum in Tianjin. The three-story museum is dedicated to the memory of premier Zhou Enlai and his wife, Deng Yingchao, and features photos, documents and dioramas of significant events in their lives. Situated in the entrance-hall are the white jade sitting statues of Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao. In another exhibition hall there are over 140 artifacts recovered from Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao.
