존 F. 케네디 (1917-1963)

미국의 제35대 대통령이다. 1961년부터 1963년에 암살당하기까지 겨우 3년 가까이 대통령직에 있었지만 미국의 자유주의에 대한 상징으로 기억되고 있다. 제2차 세계 대전 동안 남태평양에서 PT-109 고속 어뢰정의 해군 장교로 근무했고, 1947년부터 1953년까지 하원의원으로, 1953년부터 1960년까지 상원의원으로 미 의회에 있었으며, 1960년에 대통령에 당선되었다.

John Fitzgerald Kennedy was an American politician who served as the 35th President of the United States from January 1961 until his assassination in November 1963. He served at the height of the Cold War, and the majority of his presidency dealt with managing relations with the Soviet Union.

존 F. 케네디 암살 사건은 1963년 11월 22일 미국의 존 F. 케네디 대통령이 리 하비 오스월드의 총에 맞아 암살당한 사건이다. 1963년 11월 22일에 미국 케네디 대통령은 포드 자동차 회사에서 만든 링컨 컨티넨탈 차를 타고 텍사스 주 댈러스 시내에서 퍼레이드를 하고 있었다. 오후 12시 30분 딜리 플라자를 지나던 케네디 대통령의 차량에 보관창고 건물 6층에서 리 하비 오스월드가 총 3발을 쐈다. 케네디 대통령은 목이 총알로 관통되었고 목을 잡고 고통을 호소하다 부인 재클린 케네디가 보는 앞에서 머리에 총을 맞고 사망했다.

Assassination of John F. Kennedy

John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States, was assassinated on Friday, November 22, 1963, at 12:30 p.m. in Dallas, Texas, while riding in a presidential motorcade through Dealey Plaza. Kennedy was riding with his wife Jacqueline, Texas Governor John Connally, and Connally's wife, Nellie when he was fatally shot. Governor Connally was seriously wounded in the attack.
