비파형 동검

중국 요령지방에서 많이 출토되어 ′요령식 동검′이라고 하는데 중국 악기 비파(琵琶)를 닮아서 ′비파형 동검′이라고도 부른다. 전형적인 요령식 동검의 형태는 검몸[劍身] 아래부분이 폭이 넓고 둥근 비파모양을 이루며, 중앙보다 약간 위에 위치한 좌우 돌기(突起)가 뚜렷한 것이 특징이다. 또한 검몸과 자루를 따로 만들어 조합하는 형식으로, 검몸과 자루를 함께 만드는 중국식 동검[桃氏劍]과는 차이가 있다.송국리 유적에서 출토된 요령식 동검은 슴베부분[莖部]의 한쪽에 홈이 파진 형식으로 요령지방에서는 보이지 않는 것이다. 우리나라에서도 중서부와 남부지역에서만 나타나고 있어 한반도 중부 이남지역에서 제작된 특수 형식이라고 볼 수 있다.

Liaoning Bronze Dagger Culture

The Liaoning bronze dagger culture or Lute-shaped bronze dagger culture is the provisional designation of an archeological complex of the Bronze Age in Northeast China and the northern part of the Korean Peninsula.[1] Its classification is controversial. While some believe it to be sufficiently distinct to be labelled as a separate culture, others associate the findings with the Upper Xiajiadian culture.
