화순 적벽

전라남도 화순군 이서면 창랑리, 보산리, 장항리에 결쳐있는 절벽. 이름의 유래는 말 그대로 중국에 있는 적벽에서 유래했다. 동복천의 상류인 창량천 유역에는 약 7km에 걸쳐서 절벽경관이 발달하고 있는데, 대표적인 것은 물염적벽, 노루목적벽(이서적벽)등 4개군으로 나뉘어 있다. 적벽은 주변의 적절한 자연조건 때문에, 동복댐이 건설되기 직전까지 옛날부터 널리 알려진 명승지이다.

Hwasun Red Cliff

The Hwasun Red Cliff is a series of small and large red vertical cliffs that stretch from Changnang-ri to Janghak-ri in Iseo-myeon, Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do Province, along the upstream area of the Dongbokcheon Stream and Yeongsincheon Stream. The cliffs are a well-known scenic site characterized by beautiful pine trees on sheer cliffs, and the harmonious scenery formed by the forests of the adjacent Ongseongsan Mountain and the waterscape of Dongbokho Lake.
