비림
비림은 말 그대로 숲을 이룰 정도로 많은 비석과 석조로 꾸며진 박물관이라는 의미이다. 비림이 조성된 것은 11세기 공자묘가 자리를 잡으면서이다.

Stele Forest
The Stele Forest or Beilin Museum is a museum for steles and stone sculptures in Beilin District in Xi'an, Northwest China. The museum, which is housed in a former Confucian Temple, has housed a growing collection of Steles since 1087. By 1944 it was the principal museum for Shaanxi province. Due to the large number of steles, it was officially renamed the Forest of Stone Steles in 1992. Altogether, there are 3,000 steles in the museum, which is divided into seven exhibitions halls that display works of Chinese calligraphy, painting and historical records.

대진경교유행중국비(大秦景教流行中國碑)는 중국 당 건중 2년(781년)에 장안 서녕방의 대진사에 세워진 경교의 중국 전래를 전하는 비석이다. 명대에 재발견되어 시안비림박물관으로 옮겨져 보관되고 있다.

Xi'an Stele
The Xi'an Stele or the Jingjiao Stele is a Tang Chinese stele erected in 781 that documents 150 years of early Christianity in China. It is a limestone block 279 centimetres high with text in both Chinese and Syriac describing the existence of Christian communities in several cities in northern China. It reveals that the initial Church of the East had met recognition by the Tang Emperor Taizong, due to efforts of the Christian missionary Alopen in 635.
