리하르트 바그너 (1813-1883)

빌헬름 리하르트 바그너는 독일의 피아노 연주자 겸 작곡가이자 지휘자, 음악 이론가, 그리고 수필가이다. 그는 음악사에 있어서뿐 아니라 문학사에서도 뚜렷한 위치를 차지한 천재이다. 음악사에서는 초기 낭만파의 뒤를 이어 낭만파 음악을 대성한 최고봉이며, 문학사에서는 신낭만파의 희곡 영역에 있어서의 거봉이었다. 또한 니체에게도 영향을 준 그는, 쇼펜하우어의 영향을 받아 염세주의, 종교적인 신비주의, 탐미주의적인 경향의 작품으로 19세기 말 낭만주의 부흥의 터전을 마련하였다.

Wilhelm Richard Wagner was a German composer, theatre director, polemicist, and conductor who is chiefly known for his operas. Unlike most opera composers, Wagner wrote both the libretto and the music for each of his stage works.

로엔그린

로엔그린은 리하르트 바그너가 작곡하고 대본을 작성한 3막의 악극 양식의 오페라이다. 바그너는 파르치팔의 저자인 볼프람 폰 에센바흐의 중세 독일 낭만 소설인 로엔그린 를 기초로 독일어 대본은 완성하였다. 이 오페라는 1850년 8월 28일 바이마르에서 프란츠 리스트의 지휘로 초연되었다.

Lohengrin

Lohengrin, WWV 75, is a Romantic opera in three acts composed and written by Richard Wagner, first performed in 1850. The story of the eponymous character is taken from medieval German romance, notably the Parzival of Wolfram von Eschenbach and its sequel, Lohengrin, written by a different author, itself inspired by the epic of Garin le Loherain.

Der Ring des Nibelungen

Der Ring des Nibelungen, WWV 86, is a cycle of four German-language epic music dramas composed by Richard Wagner. The works are based loosely on characters from the Norse sagas and the Nibelungenlied. The composer termed the cycle a "Bühnenfestspiel", structured in three days preceded by a Vorabend. It is often referred to as the Ring Cycle, Wagner's Ring, or simply The Ring.

Rienzi, der letzte der Tribunen is an early opera by Richard Wagner in five acts, with the libretto written by the composer after Edward Bulwer-Lytton's novel of the same name (1835). The title is commonly shortened to Rienzi. Written between July 1838 and November 1840, it was first performed at the Königliches Hoftheater, Dresden, on 20 October 1842, and was the composer's first success.

Tristan und Isolde is an opera, or music drama, in three acts by Richard Wagner to a German libretto by the composer, based largely on the 12th-century romance Tristan by Gottfried von Strassburg. It was composed between 1857 and 1859 and premiered at the Königliches Hof- und Nationaltheater in Munich on 10 June 1865 with Hans von Bülow conducting.

The Bayreuth Festival is a music festival held annually in Bayreuth, Germany, at which performances of operas by the 19th-century German composer Richard Wagner are presented. Wagner himself conceived and promoted the idea of a special festival to showcase his own works, in particular his monumental cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen and Parsifal.
