아라라트산

아라라트 산은 터키에서 가장 높은 산으로, 이란과 아르메니아와의 접경 지대에 위치한 휴화산이다. 아르메니아 고원에서 돌출하는 해발 5,137m의 고산이며, 대아르메니아 봉과 소아르메니아 봉(3,896m)이 있다. 1829년 프리드리히 파로트와 하차투르 아보비안이 처음 이 산의 정상에 올랐다고 알려져있다.

Mount Ararat

Mount Ararat is a snow-capped and dormant compound volcano in the extreme east of Turkey. It consists of two major volcanic cones: Greater Ararat and Little Ararat. Greater Ararat is the highest peak in Turkey and the Armenian plateau with an elevation of 5,137 m (16,854 ft); while, Little Ararat's elevation is 3,896 m (12,782 ft).

노아의 방주

노아의 방주는 아브라함 계통의 종교에서 전승되는 설화 속에 등장하는 배이다. 모세오경 중의 창세기에 실려있으며, 노아와 관련된 일련의 이야기 속에 등장하기 때문에 노아의 방주로 통칭된다. 주로 기독교의 전승이 널리 알려져 있으나, 그 외의 아브라함 계통 종교들인 유대교, 이슬람교, 만다야교 등에서도 모두 각자의 전승을 가지고 있다.

Noah's Ark

Noah's Ark appears in the Genesis flood narrative (Genesis chapters 6–9) as the vessel in which God spares Noah, his family, and a remnant of all the world's animals from a world-engulfing flood. The Genesis flood myth is similar to numerous other flood myths from a variety of cultures, especially the Sumerian flood myth of Utnapishtim from the Epic of Gilgamesh, which is the most likely source of the Genesis flood myth.
