라테니움 고고학 박물관

지난 몇 년 동안 땅 속에 묻혀 있거나 호수 바닥에 가라앉아 있던 100개 이상의 고고학 유적지가 빛을 보게 되었으며 이로서 네안데르탈인(Neanderthal)에서부터 중세 시대까지의 역사적 쟁점에 관해 더 많은 정보를 얻을 수 있게 되었다. 세 곳의 선사시대 유적이 발견된 위치에 스위스 최대 규모의 고고학 박물관이 건립되었다.

Laténium

The Laténium is an archeology museum located in Hauterive, a suburb of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Its name refers to the La Tène culture. The Laténium is composed of a 2 500 m² parc, and a museum building which also harbours the archaeological section of the University of Neuchâtel.

수상 가옥

1,000개가 넘는 선사시대의 수상가옥 주거지들은 여섯 개 나라에 걸친 넓은 지역에서 발견되었으며, 알프스 내에서 가장 중요한 곳으로 꼽히는 곳은 유네스코로부터 세계 유적지로 지정되었다. 그 중엔 기원전 5000년에서 500년에 이르는 기간까지 거슬러 올라가는 선사시대 마을의 흔적도 남아있다.

Prehistoric pile dwellings around the Alps

Prehistoric pile dwellings around the Alps is a series of prehistoric pile-dwelling (or stilt house) settlements in and around the Alps built from around 5000 to 500 B.C. on the edges of lakes, rivers or wetlands. 111 sites, located in Switzerland (56), Italy (19), Germany (18), France (11), Austria (5 sites), and Slovenia (2) were added to UNESCO World Heritage Site list in 2011. In Slovenia, this was the first listed cultural world heritage site.
