메스깔은 멕시코 지역에서 만들어진 용설란 수액을 증류한 멕시코 전통 증류주이다. 멕시코의 남부 특히 오악사카(Oaxaca)주에서 만들어진 메스깔을 최상급으로 친다.
Mezcal
Mezcal is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from any type of agave. The word mezcal comes from Nahuatl mexcalli metl and ixcalli which means "oven-cooked agave". Agaves or magueys are found mainly in many parts of Mexico and all the way down to the equator, though most mezcal is made in Oaxaca.
