디오니소스 (바쿠스)

디오니소스는 고대 그리스 신화의 술과 풍요, 포도나무, 광기, 다산의 신이다. 제우스와 세멜레의 아들이고 아리아드네의 남편이다. 로마 신화의 바쿠스에 해당한다. 로마 신화에서는 리베르라는 풍요의 신과 동일시 되기도 하였으며, 이집트 신화의 오시리스, 프리기아 신화의 사바지오스와 동일시 되기도 하였다.

Dionysus (Bacchus)

Dionysus is the god of the grape-harvest, winemaking and wine, of fertility, ritual madness, religious ecstasy and theatre in ancient Greek religion and myth. Wine played an important role in Greek culture, and the cult of Dionysus was the main religious focus for its unrestrained consumption. His worship became firmly established in the seventh century BC.
