Shimbashi Station
Shimbashi is the original terminus of Japan's first stretch of railway, the Tōkaidō Main Line, and is one of Japan's oldest stations (the oldest station being Shinagawa, a few kilometres down the line). The original Shimbashi Station, opened on October 10, 1872, was built some way to the east of the modern-day structure and was known as Shimbashi Teishajō

일본 최초의 철도 노선
원래의 신바시 역은 신바시에서 시나가와를 거쳐 요코하마까지 달린 일본 최초의 철도 선의 종착역이었으며 1872년 10월 14일에 문을 열었다. 서구 스타일의 역 건물은 미국 건축가 RP Bridgens에 의해 디자인되었으며 일본의 근대화를 상징하고 있다.

Shimbashi Station History
The original Shimbashi Station was the terminus of Japan's first railway line that ran from Shimbashi via Shinagawa to Yokohama and opened 14 October, 1872. The original western-style station building was designed by American architect R. P. Bridgens and symbolized Japan's modernization during the Meiji Period of Japanese history. The station was fully operational from December, 1872.
