타조

타조는 아프리카의 날지 못하는 새로 타조과에 속하는 현존하는 유일한 종으로 알려져 있었으나 2014년에 소말리아타조가 타조의 아종이 아닌 가까운 종이라는 사실이 밝혀졌다. 그래서 나머지 타조를 보통 타조라고도 부른다.

Ostrich

The common ostrich, or simply ostrich, is a species of large flightless bird native to Africa. It is one of two extant species of ostriches, the only living members of the genus Struthio in the ratite order of birds. The other is the Somali ostrich was recognized as a distinct species by BirdLife International in 2014 after having been considered a very distinctive subspecies of ostrich.
