대전 시티즌
1996년 6월, 2002년 FIFA 월드컵 공동 유치가 결정된 이후 대전광역시에서는 월드컵 개최 도시로 선정되기 위한 기반을 조성하기 위해 프로 축구단 창단을 계획하였고, 2001 시즌 이태호 감독이 새롭게 팀에 부임하였고, 한밭종합운동장에서 대전월드컵경기장으로 홈구장을 이전하였다. 새로운 보금자리에서도 비록 리그 성적은 바닥을 기었으나, 새로운 감독의 지휘 아래 대전은 FA컵에서 우승하며 구단 역사상 최초로 우승 타이틀을 거머쥐었다.

Daejeon Citizen Football Club is a South Korean professional football team, based in the city of Daejeon. Daejeon Citizen Football Club are famous for being the first community-club in Korea. Daejeon first entered the K League for the 1997 season, finishing 7th out of the 10 teams participating in the league that season.
