이백 (701-762)

이백은 중국의 시인으로 자는 태백이다. 촉나라의 영토였던 쓰촨성 쑤이예에서 태어났다. 두보와 함께 중국 역사상 가장 위대한 시인으로 꼽힌다. 이 두 사람을 합쳐서 "이두"라고 칭하고 이백을 "시선"이라 부른다. 현재 약 1,100여 수의 시들이 남아 있다.

Li Bai (701-762)

Li Bai was a Chinese poet acclaimed from his own day to the present as a genius and a romantic figure who took traditional poetic forms to new heights. He and his friend Du Fu (712–770) were the two most prominent figures in the flourishing of Chinese poetry in the Tang dynasty, which is often called the "Golden Age of Chinese Poetry".
