찌아찌아어

인도네시아 내에는 소수 민족들이 매우 많기 때문에 약 250가지 언어가 존재한다. 찌아찌아족은 약 6만 명 정도이며 민족 고유의 언어를 가지고 있다. 하지만 그들에겐 음성 언어는 있어도 고유의 문자 언어는 없었기 때문에 인도네시아어, 영어, 그리고 아랍어 등의 다른 민족 언어의 문자를 빌려와 사용해 왔다. 여기에는 한계가 있었기 때문에 한글이 2009년에 공식 표기 문자로 제안되었다. 즉, 찌아찌아족은 한글을 자극 전파 받은 것이다.

Cia-Cia Language

Cia-Cia is an Austronesian language spoken principally around the city of Baubau on the southern tip of Buton Island off the southeast coast of Sulawesi in Indonesia. In 2009, the language gained international media attention as the city of Baubau was teaching children to read and write Cia-Cia in Hangul, the Korean alphabet, and the mayor consulted the Indonesian government on the possibility of making the writing system official. However, the project encountered difficulties between the city of Baubau, the Hunminjeongeum Society, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government in 2011, and was abandoned in 2012. As of 2017 it remains in use in schools and on local signs.
