로힝야족

로힝야족은 미얀마 서부 아라칸 주의 북부 지역에 주로 거주하는 소수 민족이다. 이들은 주로 이슬람교를 믿으며 방글라데시와 국경을 맞대고 있는 마웅다우, 부티다웅, 아캬브, 라테다웅, 캬우크타우를 중심으로 거주하고 있다.

Rohingya People

The Rohingya people are a stateless Indo-Aryan ethnic group who predominantly follow Islam] and reside in Rakhine State, Myanmar (previously known as Burma). There were an estimated 1 million Rohingya living in Myanmar before the 2016–17 crisis. Described by the United Nations in 2013 as one of the most persecuted minorities in the world, the Rohingya population is denied citizenship under the 1982 Myanmar nationality law. They are also restricted from freedom of movement, state education and civil service jobs.
