시나이 산 (2,285m)

시나이산은 전통적으로 모세의 산으로 알려진 이집트 시나이반도의 산이다. 시나이산은 성경과 코란에 따르면 모세가 십계명을 받은 장소인 성경의 시내산과 같은 장소일 가능성이 있다. 오늘날 시나이 반도로 알려진 지역의 성 가타리나시 근처의 이집트에서 가장 높은 산인 캐서린산 옆에 놓여 있다.

Mount Sinai (2,285m)

Mount Sinai is a mountain on the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt. It is possibly the same location as the biblical Mount Sinai, the place where, according to the Torah, Bible, and Quran, Moses received the Ten Commandments. It is a 2,285m, moderately high mountain near the city of Saint Catherine in the region known today as the Sinai Peninsula. It is surrounded on all sides by higher peaks in the mountain range of which it is a part. For example, it lies next to Mount Catherine which, at 2,629m, is the highest peak in Egypt.

Moses is considered the most important prophet in Judaism and one of the most important prophets in Christianity, Islam, the Druze faith,the Baháʼí Faith and other Abrahamic religions. According to both the Bible and the Quran, Moses was the leader of the Israelites and lawgiver to whom the authorship, or "acquisition from heaven", of the Torah (the first five books of the Bible) is attributed.
