존 피어폰트 모건 (1837-1913)

이른바 금융왕으로 알려진 미국의 기업인으로, 세계적 금융회사인 JP모건 체이스의 설립자이다. 금융회사 외에도 철도회사와 철강회사도 소유하였다. 그 외에 제너럴 일렉트릭과 AT&T의 설립에도 큰 영향력을 행사한 인물이기도 하다.

John Pierpont Morgan was an American financier and investment banker who dominated corporate finance on Wall Street throughout the Gilded Age. As the head of the banking firm that ultimately became known as J.P. Morgan and Co., he was the driving force behind the wave of industrial consolidation in the United States spanning the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Morgan Library & Museum

The Morgan Library & Museum, formerly the Pierpont Morgan Library, is a museum and research library in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. It is situated at 225 Madison Avenue, between 36th Street to the south and 37th Street to the north. The Morgan Library & Museum is composed of several structures. The main building was designed by Charles McKim of the firm of McKim, Mead and White, with an annex designed by Benjamin Wistar Morris. A 19th-century Italianate brownstone house at 231 Madison Avenue, built by Isaac Newton Phelps, is also part of the grounds.
