손둥 동굴

선도옹 동굴은 베트남 꽝빈성 보짝현에 위치해 있다. 세계 최대의 천연 동굴로 길이는 9 km, 높이는 200m , 넓이는 150m이다. 이곳은 퐁냐께방 국립공원으로 지정되어 있으며, 하노이 남쪽으로 450 km 떨어진 곳에 위치한 동굴이다. (Hang은 베트남어로 동굴이라는 의미) 라오스-베트남 국경 근처에 위치한 선도옹 동굴은 내부로 빠르게 흐르는 지하강과 세계에서 가장 큰 동굴의 단면을 가지고 있는데, 2009년 기준으로, 두번째로 가장 넓은 통로를 가진 동굴의 두 배라고 여겨진다. 부피로 볼 때 세계에서 가장 큰 동굴 통로다. 용해성 동굴로서 용해성 석회암으로 형성되었으며, 200만~500만년 된 것으로 추정된다.

Son Doong Cave

Sơn Đoòng cave in Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park, Bố Trạch District, Quảng Bình Province, Vietnam, is one of the world's largest natural caves. Located near the Laos–Vietnam border, Hang Sơn Đoòng has an internal, fast-flowing subterranean river and the largest cross-section of any cave, worldwide believed to be twice that of the next-largest passage. It is the largest known cave passage in the world by volume. Its name, Hang Sơn Đoòng, is variously translated from Vietnamese as "cave of the mountain river" or "cave of mountains behind Đoòng. As a solutional cave, it was formed in soluble limestone and is believed to be between 2 and 5 million years old.
