난징 대학살

난징 대학살이란 중일 전쟁 때 중화민국의 수도인 난징을 점령한 일본이 군대를 동원해 중국인을 무차별 학살한 사건이다. 이로 인해 약 30만 명의 중국인들이 학살되었다.1937년 12월 13일부터 1938년 2월까지 6주간에 걸쳐 이뤄졌으며, 1939년 4월에는 1644 부대가 신설되어 생체실험 등이 자행되었다.

Nanjing Massacre

The Nanjing Massacre was an episode of mass murder and mass rape committed by Japanese troops against the residents of Nanjing, then the capital of the Republic of China, during the Second Sino-Japanese War. The massacre is also known as the Rape of Nanking or, using Pinyin romanization, the Nanjing Massacre or Rape of Nanjing.

난징대학살 기념관

남경대학살 사건은 1937년 12월∼1938년 1월 일본군이 당시 중국의 수도 남경으로 진격하면서 약 30만 명을 살해하였고, 남경 점령 뒤에 약 4만 2000명을 살해한 사건이다. 전후 극동 군사재판에 제출된 자료에 따르면, 2개의 자선단체가 남경에서 매장한 유기시체만도 15만 5337구(그 중 어린이가 859구, 부녀자가 2,127구)였고, 그밖에 양자강에도 많은 시체가 버려졌다. 전후 극동 군사재판에서 당시의 총사령관인 마쓰이가 이 대학살의 책임자로서 사형에 처해졌다. 남경대학살 기념관은 남경대학살을 증언하는 사진과, 생존자의 증언, 후에 발굴된 인골들을 그대로 전시해 놓은 곳이다. 흰 콘크리트 묘처럼 생겨 있어서 다소 삭막하게 느껴지는 감이 있지만 그때의 생생한 사실을 그대로 느낄 수 있는 역사체험관이다.
