헝가리 혁명 (1956.10.23-11.4)
1956년 헝가리 혁명은 헝가리 인민공화국(1949-1989년)과 헝가리 정부의 소련 종속정책에 반대한 전국적인 혁명이다. 헝가리 혁명은 1956년 10월 23일 부다페스트에서 대학생들이 헝가리 국회의사당에 집결해 소련이 스탈린주의식 라코시 마차시 내각을 통해 정치적으로 지배하고 있다고 시위를 열면서 시작되었다. 1956년 11월 4일 소련군의 전차부대에 진압되기 전까지 12일간 계속되었다. 이 과정에서 수천명이 사망하거나 부상을 입었으며 약 25만명의 헝가리인이 타국으로 망명했다.

Hungarian Revolution(1956.10.23-11.4)
The Hungarian Revolution of 1956 was an attempted countrywide revolution against the government of the Hungarian People's Republic and the policies caused by the government's subordination to the Soviet Union. The uprising lasted 12 days before being crushed by Soviet tanks and troops on 4 November 1956. Thousands were killed and wounded and nearly a quarter of a million Hungarians fled the country.
