유엔 또는 국제 연합은 세계 거의 모든 나라를 아우르는 국제 기구이다. 1945년 10월 24일에 제2차 세계大전 종전 이후 출범했다. 설립 목적은 국제법, 국제적 안보 공조, 경제 개발 협력 증진, 인권 개선으로 세계 평화를 유지하는 데 있다.

United Nations
The United Nations (UN) is an intergovernmental organization tasked to promote international co-operation and to create and maintain international order. A replacement for the ineffective League of Nations, the organization was established on 24 October 1945 after World War II with the aim of preventing another such conflict. At its founding, the UN had 51 member states; there are now 193. The headquarters of the UN is in Manhattan, New York City, and is subject to extraterritoriality.
