산마르코 수도원 (박물관)

산마르코는 이탈리아 피렌체의 종교 시설 단지의 명칭이다. 교회당과 수녀원으로 이뤄져 있다. 현재는 박물관인 수녀원은 세 가지의 명성을 지니고 있다. 15세기 동안에는 두 유명한 도미니코회 성직자 프라 안젤리코와 지롤라모 사보나롤라의 거쳐였다. 또한 수녀원은 유명한 필사본 컬랙션들이 있는 미켈로초가 지은 도서관이 있기도 하다.

Museo Nazionale di San Marco

San Marco is a religious complex in Florence, Italy. It comprises a church and a convent. The convent, which is now the Museo Nazionale di San Marco, has three claims to fame. During the 15th century it was home to two famous Dominicans, the painter Fra Angelico and the preacher Girolamo Savonarola. Also housed at the convent is a famous collection of manuscripts in a library built by Michelozzo.

수태고지 (프라 안젤리코)

성모영보는 그리스도교의 신약성서에 쓰여 있는 일화 가운데 하나로, 성모 마리아에게 가브리엘 대천사가 찾아와 성령에 의해 처녀의 몸으로 예수 그리스도를 잉태할 것이라고 고하고, 또 마리아가 그것에 순명하고 받아들인 사건을 말한다. 동방 정교회에서는 성모희보라고 하며, 개신교에서는 수태고지라고 한다.

Annunciation (Fra Angelico)

The Annunciation is an Early Renaissance fresco by Fra Angelico in the Convent of San Marco in Florence, Italy. When Cosimo de' Medici rebuilt the convent, he commissioned Fra Angelico to decorate the walls with intricate frescos. This included the altarpiece, the inside of the monk's cells, the friar's cloister, the chapter house, and inside the corridors; around fifty pieces in total. All of the paintings were done by Angelico himself or under his direct supervision. Out of all of the frescos at the convent, the Annunciation is the most well known in the art world.
