로마의 일곱 언덕

현재도 일부 언덕의 이름들은 여전히 로마 시내의 지명이나 건물 이름으로 쓰이고 있다. 흔히 바티칸이나 성 베드로 대성전으로 유명한 바티칸 언덕도 로마의 일곱 언덕에 포함된다고 생각하지만, 사실 티베르 강 북부에 위치해 있어 로마의 일곱 언덕이 아니다. 이와 같은 이유로 핀차노 언덕은 북쪽에, 자니콜로 언덕은 서쪽에 위치하기 때문에 일곱 언덕에 포함되지 않는다.

Janiculu

The Janiculumis a hill in western Rome, Italy. Although the second-tallest hill in the contemporary city of Rome, the Janiculum does not figure among the proverbial Seven Hills of Rome, being west of the Tiber and outside the boundaries of the ancient city.

주세페 가리발디 (1807-1882)

가리발디는 1807년 7월 4일에 니스에서 선원의 아들로 태어났다. 가리발디는 이탈리아로 가서 사르데냐 왕국의 해군으로 들어가게 되었다. 또한 주세페 마치니의 청년 이탈리아당에서 활동하던 가리발디는, 1834년에 마치니의 혁명 운동에 동참하다 실패해 프랑스로 망명한다.

Giuseppe Garibaldi (1807-1882)

Giuseppe Garibaldi was an Italian general and nationalist. A republican, he contributed to the Italian unification and the creation of the Kingdom of Italy. One book describes him as one of the greatest generals of modern times and one of Italy's "fathers of the fatherland" along with Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour, Victor Emmanuel II of Italy and Giuseppe Mazzini.
