잔 로렌초 베르니니 (1598-1680)

페르세포네를 납치하는 하데스

하데스는 우연히 페르세포네를 보고 첫 눈에 반하게 된다. 하데스는 당장 그녀와 결혼하고 싶었지만, 그녀의 어머니이자 자신의 누이인 데메테르가 이를 알면 반대할 게 뻔하니, 형제인 제우스에게 중재를 맡긴다. 그녀는 원래부터 꽃을 좋아했는데 하데스는 지하로 연결되는 절벽 옆에 아름다운 꽃을 피어나게 했고 이를 꺾으러 다가온 페르세포네를 납치해간다.

The Rape of Proserpina

The Rape of Proserpina (Italian: Ratto di Proserpina) is a large Baroque marble sculptural group by Italian artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini, executed between 1621 and 1622. Bernini was only twenty-three years old at its completion. It depicts the Abduction of Proserpina, where Proserpina is seized and taken to the underworld by the god Pluto.

아폴론과 다프네

태양의 신 아폴론의 첫사랑. 사실 아폴론이 다프네를 좋아하게 된 이유는 맞은 후 처음으로 본 사람을 사랑하게 되는 에로스의 금화살을 맞고 처음 본 사람이 다프네였기 때문이다. 반대로 다프네 쪽은 맞은 후 처음 본 사람을 싫어하게 만드는 에로스의 납 화살을 맞고 처음 본 사람이 아폴론이였기에 그를 경멸하게 되었다. 이는 에로스의 작은 복수극이다. 아폴론이 괴물 뱀 피톤을 죽이고 우쭐하여 자신의 화살을 깔본 것 때문에 앙심을 품은 상태였다.
