헤네시 (꼬냑)

1765년 아일랜드의 귀족 출신 군인인 리처드 헤네시가 설립한 주류회사. 카뮤와 레미 마르탱과 함께 가장 유명한 코냑 브랜드이다. 현재 LVMH 소속. 프랑스와 영국의 전쟁에 참전한 헤네시가 코냑 지방에 매료되어 이곳에 자리를 잡고 설립한 주류회사이다. 타 코냑 브랜드에 비해서 가격대가 매우 비싼편이다. 이는 헤네시사의 고급화 마케팅도 있지만 중국에서의 인기가 많아서 중국인들의 사재기로 값도 오르고 고숙성 오드비의 고갈로 맛이 나빠지고 있다. 그러나 2022년부터 다른 코냑 브랜드들이 VSOP, XO 등 라인업의 가격을 크게 올려버리면서 상대적으로 가격이 덜 올라 가격 차이가 거의 없어졌고, 일부 매장의 경우 헤네시가 제일 싼 기현상이 벌어지기도 한다. 다만 XXO 이상으로 올라가면 여전히 헤네시가 제일 비싸다.

Hennessy (Cognac)

Hennessy is a French producer of cognac, founded in 1765 by Richard Hennessy which has its headquarters in Cognac, France. It is one of the best-known cognac houses, along with Martell, Courvoisier, and Rémy Martin, who together make around 45% of the world's cognac. Hennessy sells approximately 102 million bottles of its cognacs per year, making it the world's largest cognac producer, and in 2017 its sales represented around 60% of the US cognac market. As well as distilling cognac eaux-de-vie itself, the company also acts as a négociant.
