하남성과 호북성 등 지역의 고대 왕실과 귀족 무덤의 고고학 발굴에서 많은 고대 편종이 출토되었다. 이중 제일 주목되는 것은 바로 호북성 수현 증후을 무덤에서 발견된 증후을 편종이다. 이 대형 편종은 지금까지 2400여년의 역사를 갖고 있는데, 크기가 다른 종 65개로 이뤄져있다. 이 편종은 공예가 정교하고 아름다우며 몸체에 또 음률과 관련된 글자 2800여자가 각인되어 많은 음악술어를 기록하고 있다. 증후을 편종은 현재 중국에서 출토된, 수량이 제일 많고 규모가 제일 크며 잘 보존된 편종으로서 인류 문화사의 기적으로 불리고 있다.

Bianzhong

Bianzhong is an ancient Chinese musical instrument consisting of a set of bronze bells, played melodically. They are also called Chime Bells. These sets of chime bells were used as polyphonic musical instruments and some of these bells have been dated at between 2,000 to 3,600 years old.

월왕구천검

월왕구천검은 1967년 중화인민공화국 호북성의 초나라 고분에서 발견된 춘추시대의 편수 양날 도검 유물이다. 구리와 주석으로 만든 청동검으로, 지극히 오래되었음에도 불구하고 날이 서 있으며 녹청이 형성되지 않았다. 현재 호북성 박물관에서 소장 중이다.

Sword of Goujian

The Sword of Goujian is an archaeological artifact of the Spring and Autumn period (771 to 403BC) found in 1965 in Hubei, China. Cast in tin bronze, it is renowned for its unusual sharpness and resistance to tarnish rarely seen in artifacts so old. This historical artifact of ancient China is currently in the possession of the Hubei Provincial Museum.
