김대중 (1924.1.6-2009.8.18)

김대중은 대한민국의 제15대 대통령이다. 군부 정권의 위협으로 여러 번 죽을 고비를 넘기면서 김영삼과 함께 국내외에서 오랫동안 민주 진영의 지도자로 활동하며 군사 정권에 항거했다. 대내외적으로는 민주화를 지지했으나, 인권 향상과 남북 관계의 진전에 기여한 공로로 2000년 임기 중에 한국인 역사상 최초로 노벨 평화상을 수상하였다.

Kim Dae-jung was a South Korean politician who served as President of South Korea from 1998 to 2003. He was a 2000 Nobel Peace Prize recipient, the only Korean Nobel Prize recipient in history. He was sometimes referred to as the "Nelson Mandela of South Korea".

김대중 납치 사건

일본으로 망명 중이던 김대중이 1973년 8월 8일 오후 1시경 일본 도쿄도의 호텔 그랜드팰리스 2210호실 부근에서 대한민국 중앙정보부 누군가의 섭렵 요원으로 추정되는 사람들에게 납치되어, 8월 13일에 서울의 자택 앞에서 발견된 사건이다.

The South Korean dissident leader Kim Dae-jung, later president of South Korea, was kidnapped on August 8, 1973, in Tokyo, Japan. At around 13:19, Kim was abducted by a group of unidentified agents as he walked out of the room after the meeting.

김대중 내란음모사건

김대중 내란음모사건은 1980년 신군부세력이 김대중을 비롯한 민주화 운동가 20여 명이 북한의 사주를 받아 내란음모를 계획하고, 광주 민주화 운동을 일으켰다는 혐의가 있어, 군사재판에 회부한 사건이다. 2004년 김대중은 재심을 통해 무죄를 선고받았다.
